Ron D. Rudkin, PhD - Director
Dr. Rudkin specializes in the application of finance, economics, and statistics to a wide range of litigation issues and consulting problems. He is an expert in the use of derivative techniques to value complex real assets such as generation units, and to make improved operating and strategic decisions. Ron also brings to Gnarus extensive expertise in the valuation of non-traded financial instruments, including employee stock options (ESOs), restricted stock, and stock appreciation rights. He is the developer of Gnarus’ Equity and Stock Option Valuation (ESOVAL®) models, which are used to value complex traded and nontraded instruments and real options.
The ESOVAL® models use state-of-the-art Monte Carlo-simulation methods that are designed to value virtually any complex instrument or real asset, including those with a large number of uncertain variables, decisions that can be made repeatedly and at virtually any point in time and complex payoff mechanisms. Ron has held various management positions with the Southern California Gas Company and its parent company, Pacific Enterprises. Before that, he was a tenured associate professor of management at California State University at Long Beach where he taught undergraduate courses and graduate seminars in Operations Management.
