Bret C. Cohen - Vice President & General Counsel
Bret C. Cohen’s unique background as a geologist and an attorney make him an integral member of the Gnarus Advisors team. With more than 15 years of combined experience, Bret is a liability evaluation expert in environmental and product liability matters, who identifies, manages, and mitigates liabilities for clients in the US and abroad.
Bret has worked on hundreds of deals (many valued at over $1 billion) and is a seasoned consultant with expertise in various aspects of environmental, product liability, and regulatory law. Bret is a proficient risk manager with extensive experience in the evaluation and correction of regulatory compliance issues, liability allocation, claim and strategy management, and the development of sustainability programs. He also has expertise in complex toxic tort litigation management and strategy development.
Bret’s previous experience includes his work as a geologist for various environmental development and contracting firms and as an attorney for two of the nation’s top law firms. He has a B.S. in Geology and History from the College of William & Mary and a J.D. from The George Washington University.
