Gnarus Advisors Adds Two Economic Analysts to Team
ARLINGTON, Va. – July 22, 2010 – Gnarus Advisors LLC announced today that earlier this year it added two economists to its team, expanding the firm’s expertise in the economic analysis of liability estimation, asbestos claims, statistical analysis, and commercial damages.
Dr. Jessica Horewitz joins Gnarus as a director and Jorge Sirgo joins as a principal. Both previously worked at Navigant Consulting, Inc.
“Jessica and Jorge will bring value to our clients by deepening our expertise in asbestos and mass tort liability estimation and by expanding our expertise in using analytical and statistical tools to assess the costs associated with litigation and insurance claims,” said Stephen Sellick, founder and managing director of Gnarus Advisors, an analytic and expert services consulting firm.
Horewitz joins Gnarus with 15 years of consulting and testifying experience in the litigation environment, using analytical and statistical tools to assist clients with a variety of economic and econometric analyses. She has substantial expertise in managing large volumes of data and conceptualizing analyses to best use the data for clients’ analytical needs.
Horewitz has been instrumentally involved in asbestos liability estimation, claims analysis and projections, as well as cash flow analysis in contract disputes and general economic analysis of damages. She has investigated the economic impact of intellectual property and class certification issues in the anti-trust/competitive environment.
Horewitz said that “I am looking forward to bringing my body of experience and expertise to Gnarus and working with an excellent team of colleagues.”
Horewitz earned a doctorate in economics in 1997 from the University of Virginia. She earned a Master of Arts in Economics from Virginia in 1992.
Sirgo works with clients to estimate the liability arising from asbestos and other bodily injury claims. Sirgo has also provided banks, thrifts and their non-bank financial services subsidies and affiliates with technical and managerial consulting services on a wide range of compliance-related issues relevant to mortgage banking. In addition, Sirgo has employed various sampling techniques to design, evaluate, and critique statistical samples in the determination of damages and validation of audits.
“I look forward to putting my 13 years experience in providing economic and financial analysis, utilizing econometric and statistical methods to address various business applications to work for clients at Gnarus,” Sirgo said.
Sirgo earned a Master of Arts in Regulatory Economics from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
